Ealing Council celebrated the launch of the fourth edition of Ealing in London magazine at the Mayfair headquarters of property adviser GVA, with a packed audience of developers and regeneration professionals in attendance.
The event was organised by Ealing in London publisher 3Fox International and included speeches from Patrick Morrissey, regional senior director at the GVA and Lucy Taylor, director of regeneration and planning policy at Ealing Council.
Morrissey pointed to Ealing’s growing presence in London and highlighted potential opportunities in the borough.
He said: "There’s been a significant amount of investment in the borough and there’s a lot of development activity. There is a clear intent to ensure this continues.
"There are only two boroughs in London with more people, Barnet and Croydon. By area, Ealing is somewhat smaller so by that measure I would say that in at least one respect Ealing is the most important borough in London.
"Whichever way you look at it, it is an important environment and there’s a great deal of opportunity."
Taylor noted the importance of the Ealing in London partnership in producing the magazine and supporting Ealing’s MIPIM delegation.
She said: "We’re really proud to be launching this fourth edition of Ealing in London magazine. The Ealing in London partnership with 3Fox is really important to us because it enables us to have an open dialogue with you as the key developers and investors in the borough and that is something we really value.
"We are starting to see real results in the borough, particularly in the town centre. We’ve got Dickens Yard coming out of the ground, which is really changing how people view Ealing."
Taylor also talked of 3Fox’s involvement in enabling the council to attend international property conference MIPIM in March.
"We’ve seen real benefits,” she said. "MIPIM has been important in raising our profile on the national and international stage. Others have endorsed the magazine and we’ve now become one of the most highly regarded boroughs in London in terms of our regeneration plan."
Toby Fox, managing director of 3Fox International, said: "It's great to see that people are now living and working in schemes that featured as plans in earlier issues of Ealing in London.
